Sessions & Editorials

Sometimes forever is just a moment in time

From ordinary days to extraordinary milestones, every LEYKA session is created around the people, relationships and little details that make your story yours.

Let's find the beautiful light, create the movement, capture the connection and make space for the unexpected — with just a sprinkle of creative direction when you need it.

couples, family & childhood

introductory price £250

For couples and families in all their glorious forms, exactly as they are — loud, quiet, chaotic, affectionate, independent and everything in between.

These sessions aren't about everyone looking at the camera (although we may get some more traditional shots). They're about the big connections and the tiny things you'd forgotten mattered — muddy boots (or paws), favourite toys, meaningful cuddles, the tension before the kiss, belly laughs, the theatrical sulk and all the beautiful bits in between.

At home or out in the wild, with children, extended family, close friends, and four-legged family members very much welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you do cake smashes, newborn poses or other traditional studio sessions?

Not really — and that's very deliberate.

I don't offer these more traditional packages or standard studio-style photography. If you're looking for matching backdrops, elaborate balloon arches or everyone sitting perfectly and smiling awkwardly at the camera, I'm probably not the photographer for you.

What I can do (and actually love to do) is to take the idea behind those milestones and photograph it the LEYKA way.

A cake smash might become the low-key birthday party in the kitchen, complete with wrapping paper covering the counters and the dog in the party hat sat slobbering over what remains of a very obliterated cake.

A newborn may be posed in the arms of their proud grandparents, while the new parents look on lovingly. A traditional family portrait might take place in your favourite park, with everyone styled fabulously — or discussing which family member has the smelliest feet.

So, we don't need to give up the elements of those types of shoots.

We just have to make them unquestionably yours.

2. Will you take the more traditional photos too?

Yes, of course!

Not every photograph needs to involve muddy knees and crazy hair.

The general structure of a session will start with the more traditional set-up before moving on to the more natural and interactive part of the session.

This is important, firstly because children especially can only tolerate being posed for short periods of time and secondly, to ensure we have the group photos you really want — and any other variations or combinations on your wish list.

The session will then move on to the unstructured part, where natural interactions will be drawn out with gentle prompts and any children (or adults) can move as freely as they wish.

Frequently Asked Questions

3. Do you photograph weddings or events?

Good question!

The answer is, it depends.

As a general rule for wedding photography where I would be expected to act as the primary wedding photographer, the current answer is no. However, I will consider weddings on an individual basis if you're looking for a second photographer to help capture those in-between moments and additional coverage of the parts of the day that can so easily go unnoticed.

If this is something you'd like, it would be important to check with your chosen primary photographer that additional photography is permitted under their contract, as some photographers work exclusively or have their own designated second photographer.

When it comes to events, it would depend on the type of event and what exactly you'd like me to achieve. Some organised events will already have a designated photographer in place so this would need to be established first before accepting any bookings.

4. Can I have a sneak preview of the photos?

I know how tempting it is to want just one little peek — especially if the session was tailored around a special milestone or event.

But the short answer is no.

Your photographs are selected, edited and presented to you as one complete collection.

All of your images will go through two culling stages and two editing stages. I will go through them all together to ensure consistency across your gallery. If I were to send photos to you randomly, they wouldn't feel complete and, overall, it would extend the time it takes  me to deliver your full gallery — meaning you'd have to wait even longer for your images.

So, I know it's difficult having to wait when you're excited, but I promise it'll be worth it.
